Carla Baudrons
is Queen regnant of the most illustrious, most ridiculous, and unfortunately quite fatigable House of Baudrons! Hi, it’s me. I’m tired and you’re tired so I’ll try and make this brief and amusing.
I am a reformed artist, which means I am done doing others’ bidding and am fully dedicated to pursuing my own creative whimsy.
I was born and homeschooled in East Tennessee under a super fundamentalist evangelical Christian regime, along with my six siblings.
Christianity stunted my growth and crippled me in ways that I don’t know if I’ll ever heal from, but it’s also given me insight into human nature that helps me connect with people easily. Not sure if it’s worth it, but I’m trying to see the silver lining.
I was married for a decade, during which time, I discovered that I was actually a whole and complete person, all by myself! That, in addition to many other compelling facts, convinced me that marriage is not my jam. Of course there’s a lot more to it.
Some other interesting facts about me, in no particular order are:
• I’ve moved around a lot (Denver, Durango, Albuquerque, Iowa City, Ithaca, Knoxville)
• I live in a camper (The Chariot)
• I’ve worked a lot of different jobs (some of which I’m not allowed to talk about),
• I had breast cancer when I was 33 (invasive ductal HR+ stage IA, had a unilateral nip-sparing mastectomy, autologous reconstruction, currently on a 10-year hormone treatment plan) so I get to go through menopause twice (woohoo),
• I have an awesome FIV+ ginger boy named Rowan Tolliver Baudrons who is my light and life, and
• He won’t let me type for very long. He’s scratching the shit out of me right now trying to get me to play with him, so I must go. Maybe I’ll write more here later, but it’s already so long, and I’m so tired.
